"Plop, plop, fizz, fizz, oooh what a relief it is.

my layman's definition of onomatopoeia was always 'batman words.' those cartooned words that flew across the screen whenever bruce wayne and the gang were in a brawl. yet they're more than just fighting words, they are sounds effects to any story—action words that put you right into the scene. "I vooooomed down the stairs and bannnnnnnged the door shut, plopped on the bench and splaaaaat - i killed that little buzzing skeeter" words that emulate action. yummy.

i rarely complete a grammatically correct sentence when telling a story. there are breaks and swooooshes and hand gestures all over the place. i blame a lot of it on my brothers who had me growing up with blow em up shoot em up aircrafts zooming over your head kind of stories, intermingled with awesome, dead on onamatopoeias. i say all this because on our previous after effects project i added sound at the last moment - not remembering that sounds and swooshes pull a story togetherrrrr. so this time around, i must learn from my last, and do what i know how to do best, tell a story with batman words.
