my thoughtful question on reading2

boooooy, did i like this reading.
so simple
so layed out.
this is the rule and this is why and here are the examples. beeeyoooutiful.

Ok, here is a question..of all the related fields–page8–each position seems equally important or at least has it's spot in the process. so, as a solo designer, do i need to take on every single one of these positions? it seems somewhat far-fetched in the sense that those fields are very 'this person realizes...or this person has a knack for..' maybe it's something that firms need to build their teams off of? a guideline for a strong, healthy team? hmm...i think so.

I would agree with building a team off of what people find their nack in. I personally find the designers that have to outsource their work to other graphic design firms an interesting scenario. I believe that learning and or researching how to be part interaction designer or information architect to save time and money using another firm demonstrates a better graphic designer.

the larger the design firm the more teams and experts it is both a blessing and a curse. no matter which way it goes it is always interesting and enlightening.

I don't think that it always has to be a designer that fulfills each of these roles. Why can't you have that lady from accounting try out your interface?

Get different test subjects, bring it out into the real world. Designers tend to work in our own, sealed capsule. As long as we break out of it and look to non-designers for feedback, I don't think that we necessarily need to fill each role within the design departments.
